This past weekend, we were invited to see Catch Me If You Can, the newest production to be performed at the Sorenson Legacy Jewel Box Stage at the Hale Center Theater in Sandy, Utah. I love musicals, but I do like to switch it up and see plays whenever I am able.

This was the first time that I have been to the Sorenson Legacy Jewel Box Stage, rather than their main stage, and I loved the configuration. This theater was intimate, with not one bad seat in the house. I loved the arrangement of the seats looking down upon the stage. From where I sat, I could see every detail.

Catch Me If You Can is the latest show to grace the stages at the Hale Center in Sandy and while I have seen several productions here, this one has been my favorite so far. This murder mystery finds us in a small upstate New York town near the Catskills. Our main character is on his honeymoon, but his wife is missing. A local inspector is investigating his missing wife and all of a sudden, she reappears, but she isn’t who she claims to be. What happens next, I won’t tell, but it is very thought provoking, shocking and will leave you talking about it long after the lights go out.

This play was really well done. The acting was wonderful, the story very intriguing and one I would definitely recommend seeing. As I said before, this was the best production of a show I have seen at Hale Center Theater to date. Everyone in the audience had big reactions to the show, so I know everyone was in agreement–it was not to be missed.
