Last night, I was invited into the world of skiing. A world that has evolved greatly since the 1950’s when Warren Miller picked up a camera and began filming those that loved the sport as much as he did.

I am not a skier, but whenever I have seen a Warren Miller film, I’ve been somewhat mesmerized by what is portrayed on screen. When given the chance to go see the premiere of Warren Miller’s ALL TIME, I knew it was something I wanted to see on the big screen.

Celebrating 74 years of snow sports, this film captures the highs and lows of a sport that began simply enough and has turned into the most dynamic of winter activities. Even for someone that has no experience skiing and snowboarding, one can fully enjoy the prowess and skill that is portrayed in this film. It is narrated by Jonny Moseley and takes us on a journey from the beginning, decade by decade, sharing images and icons throughout the history of the sport.

I loved many aspects of the film. Traveling the world and exploring the places ski towns have popped up, the extreme places and heights the best of the best choose to ride, and the trial and errors along the way. It was a greatly inspirational and funny film and the audience absolutely loved it. I also loved the portions of the film showing Maine’s finest athlete, Donny Pelletier, in action. You will love that, too!

Seeing the film in Utah, when there are several mentions of the state’s fine ski resorts and athletes, was an added bonus, hearing the audience erupt with excitement whenever the state was mentioned.

Less a documentary than a love letter, ALL TIME is a way to honor how, where, and with whom we’ve made ski and snowboard movies since Warren first picked up a camera in 1949.

This is not a trip down memory lane; it’s an exploration of how snow sports have burrowed into our collective consciousness as an obsession and a way of life.

Warren Miller ski and snowboard films have served as the annual start to winter for skiers and snowboarders across the globe for nearly 75 years, and this celebration can’t be contained by a single film or even a single year. Winter is coming!

You can go see this movie for yourself as the film tour has begun. Go to warrenmiller.com for more information. You will not want to miss it!
