Looking for a fun and super sweet way to kick off the holiday season? Then a family trip to the theater is just what you need. Elf the Musical is being performed now on their intricate stage at the Hale Center Theater in Sandy, Utah through January 6th, so there is ample opportunity to grab your kiddos and take them out for an afternoon or evening to achieve maximum Christmas spirit.

Created after the movie of the same name, Elf the Musical is the stage adaptation of the adventures Buddy the Elf, a human who thinks he is one of Santa’s elves, has when he discovers that his real dad lives in New York City and is on Santa’s naughty list. He travels extensively from the North Pole to the city to get to know his dad and get him off the naughty list. Elf is definitely a Christmas favorite, and I had the pleasure of seeing it on Broadway when it was first created many years ago.
If you love theater, it’s always fun to go see a show at the Hale Center Theater. The stage is wonderful and so much can be done with the sets, which has been a highlight of every show I have seen there. There is not a bad seat in the house, no matter where you sit, you will see and hear everything perfectly.

Elf the Musical was a really fun and joyful production that is a fantastic way to get younger audiences into the theater to see how magical it can be. The story is fun and engaging, lots of laughs will be had. This is a very family-friendly performance that will be enjoyed by all.
This stage adaptation follows the movie very closely, with some stand out performances by Emily (Elise Pearce) and Michael (Lelini “Chubby” Longi) (the cast alternates, but we saw these performers at a Friday showing) that we very much enjoyed. They were both very talented!
Elf the Musical is a very light-hearted and feel good show that will have you thinking about the importance Christmas cheer and is the perfect way to start off the holiday season.
