Monster Jam is in Salt Lake City January 5-7th! If you’re looking to get out of the cold, snowy weather for some fun, get your tickets today. They bring the heat and noise with some high flying action. You’ll see spins, flips, and wrecks. It’s the perfect event for adults and kids alike.

Make sure to wear your ear protection from the get go. Racing is the first event with two trucks running at the same time. It gets loud! There are 7 heats with one truck coming out victorious. You will want to be in your seats in time to catch the start of the action. After the racing is done, the second event is the two wheel challenge. The 8 drivers test their fine motor skills (pun intended) by keeping their truck on two wheels as long as possible. They each have two attempts at getting one end of their truck up in the air. Our drivers put on a heck a performance in this event with several rear wheels being up for 15+ seconds!
Following the two wheel challenge, the trucks take a break to cool down and get some repairs. Out come the dirt bike stunt crew. After they set up the big ramp, the trick show kicks off. One after another, they throw down massive tricks from tail whips to backflips. You’ll be amazed how easy they make it look. Our favorite part was the trick train. All four stuntmen line up and throw a massive big air stunt back to back. You have two bikes in the air at a time, which was amazing to watch.

When the dirt bike stunt show is wrapped up, we’re back to the monster trucks with the donut competition. The name of the game is to get all four wheels to break loose and spin as fast as possible, as long as possible. With the differential glowing red hot underneath the trucks you can see how much power they are producing. You can also feel it as those engines shake the stadium.
The last event is the freestyle competition which is probably our favorite. The drivers have 90 seconds to strut their stuff with all their best moves. Grave Digger stole the show with a back flip attempt that saw him upside down and stay upside down. Even though Grave Digger didn’t land the move, it got the crowd on its feet.
I’ll admit, once the event was over and we went back to our car, I was wishing we were driving away on 6 foot tall wheels. We’ll have to wait until next year to scratch our monster truck itch, but we will definitely be back! This event is fun for the whole family. It’s one your kids will ask to see again and again.
So don’t miss the opportunity to see Monster Jam at the Delta Center this weekend. Tickets can be purchased online and you can learn more about preshow events and special upgrades by visiting them online.
