Last night, we were invited to see The Cher Show‘s national tour when it stopped in Colorado Springs at the Pikes Peak Center for Performing Arts. This was the first time going to both the venue and the show, so we were excited to see what was in store for us.

Along with many other shows, comedians, and concerts, Broadway at Pikes Peak Center is part of the wonderful line up of events that can be enjoyed here.

The Cher Show is the current musical to be performed for Broadway at Pikes Peak, having arrived last night for a limited engagement through May 2, 2024.

While I will admit going into this show, I have never really been a fan of Cher, I tried going in with an open mind. I am so glad that I didn’t let my preconceived notions interfere with seeing the show, as it would have been a shame to not see this musical.

One thing I love to do is learn about people’s lives. Take the life of a superstar and set it to music for a sparkling production on the stage, you’ve almost always got me hooked.

We learn about Cher’s life via three different characters, if you will, or three versions of herself–Babe, Lady, and Star. We learn so much about where she came from, struggles and obstacles overcome, and how she became the adored star that she is. All the while integrating the music. The music is sensational and whether you thought you were a Cher fan or not, you will recognize the music–35 hits, actually!

This jukebox musical is a really fun one, but as someone that knew nothing about Cher’s career or life, absolutely eye-opening. Every aspect of this production is off-the-charts incredible. The lighting and sets create the perfect backdrop. The music is fantastic. The acting, especially by the actress portraying Star, rival the voice and mannerisms of Cher herself. I really can’t over emphasize how jaw-dropping the singing was. The talent was unreal. Uncanny how well these roles were cast! The choreography and movement in the show were spectacular. The costumes–well, the show could have been one big fashion show for how intricate and detailed they were–stunning! The story, absolutely intriguing. Our entire group, none of which were fans of Cher at arrival, some not even familiar with her at all, were absolutely mesmerized by every facet. The entire performance was captivating!

The show shares an incredibly empowering message and the energy in the theater was palpable. The audience was thrilled to be witness to her life story unfolding on the stage and celebrate with her in her triumphs. The emotion felt throughout the show was all-encompassing and, by the end, every audience member was on their feet dancing and singing along. The roar in the crowd was audible and irrepressible.

We can not recommend The Cher Show enough. If you have a free night this week while it is performing at the Pikes Peak Center, book your tickets now! If you have plans, change them–you won’t want to miss this sensational show!

Superstars come and go. Cher is forever. For six straight decades, only one unstoppable force has flat-out dominated popular culture – breaking down barriers, pushing boundaries and letting nothing and no one stand in her way. THE CHER SHOW is the Tony Award®-winning musical of her story, and it’s packed with so much Cher that it takes three women to play her: the kid starting out, the glam pop star, and the icon.

THE CHER SHOW is 35 smash hits, six decades of stardom, two rock-star husbands, a Grammy®, an Oscar®, an Emmy®, and enough Tony Award-winning Bob Mackie gowns to cause a sequin shortage in New York City, all in one unabashedly fabulous new musical that will have audiences dancing in the aisles!
