Nestled in the towering red cliffs of Southern Utah sits Tuacahn Amphitheater. We spent a clear night under the beautiful canopy of night stars as we enjoyed the Live Nativity performance. This performance is coupled with Tuacahn’s Christmas in the Canyon. Attendees can enjoy the experience of both the reverential side of Christmas, along with the joyful and fun aspects of Christmas.

The Nativity is live, and this presents as an extra treat for the holiday season. The show is comprised of music, along with narration, live animals, and performers who depict this respectful event as told in books of scripture. This show is not just for the religious. Those who align as non-religious, can also enjoy this production as an association with the Christmas season celebrations.

The live animals provided a feeling of authenticity and are fitting in the telling of the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. The set, animals, music, and performers all combined to create a feeling of reverence for this religious moment in history, as repeatedly presented and portrayed around the world.

The duration of the show is approximately 20 minutes. While this may seem short, there is more to enjoy either prior to, or following the conclusion of the show. People can linger by the freestanding, fire flamed heaters and warm cooler hands and merry hearts. The Christmas lights sparkle and are sure to delight. They give colorful light to the entire area. Familiar Christmas music is piped throughout the venue.

A train ride which is holiday themed is offered, adding to the fun activities of the evening. Please note there is a small cost to ride the train. This ride lasts about 5 minutes and takes all aboard on a pleasurable ride around the grounds of Tuacahn.

The Nativity is impressively performed by volunteer groups. Those who take part provide a true Christmas experience and remind us to reflect on what is of most importance at this time of the year. The performance and the activities on the grounds of Tuacahn are a fun evening for all. You will leave having felt the Spirit of Christmas and be pleased you were able to experience The Nativity.

This was an evening well spent as we rang in the Christmas season. There is something for everyone, and we left with the feeling of Christmas in our hearts. This was a wonderful way to ring in the Christmas season. To pick up your tickets, visit Tuacahn online. The Live Nativity runs from now until December 23, 2024.
