Attending a concert at Tuacahn will never disappoint. The atmosphere in the unique surroundings is not only delightful, but also relaxing. Whatever the performers may present, the Tuacahn Amphitheatre is guaranteed to provide a great night of entertainment! Last night, we were enthralled by the performance of The Piano Guys. Whatever genres of music a person may appreciate, The Piano Guys deliver music that reaches across musical aisles. The location of St. George, Utah is fitting for their performance since this is where The Piano Guys began their formation as a group!

This quartet consists of Jon Schmidt who is a pianist and song writer, Steven Sharp Nelson who is a cellist and a songwriter, Paul Anderson, who is a producer and videographer, and Al van der Beek, who is a music producer, and also a songwriter. Collectively, The Piano Guys enjoy a large fan following. One merely has to search social media to see how far-reaching their fan base is, and as such, are known world-wide. They have played sold out concerts on a global level, so to be able to attend their concert here at Tuacahn was an absolute treat!

The Piano Guys have released a number of albums, with one released in 2012 which reached gold status. Their popularity is garnered in part due to their spectacular talents in comprising both contemporary and classical music wherein they merge and compliment both seamlessly, providing entertainment on a spectacular level. Their appeal reaches across the age spectrum, where concert goers ranged from the noticeably young to those in the upper age group. This shows the hallmark of musicians that understand the industry, and the desire for their brand of music. The concert kept us fully immersed in the performance of The Piano Guys. Their amazing stage presence allowed the audience to stay connected with them, along with their, at times, tender personal experiences, and light-hearted humor. It is no wonder they are able to draw such large audiences.

We recognized familiar pieces and were also treated to some favorites. The opening renditions of The Avengers and Pirates of the Caribbean were spectacular, combined with skilled and artful videography. Their music is inspiring, positive, and reflective. These elements are clearly appreciated, which their popularity attests to. This show is top entertainment! It is fun, and crowd-pleasing. The Piano Guys give a full-energy performance. We would highly recommend this as a family-friendly show. It would be close to impossible to leave The Piano Guys concert and not have a great appreciation of their art. They clearly love what they do, which speaks through their music, and their audiences love to hear them perform.

The concert was well-worth the time and delivers in terms of value on numerous levels. An announcement at the end of the show by The Piano Guys was met with gasps of disappointment, yet understanding, as they shared they will be taking a break from touring for an indefinite period of time to spend more time with family. The realization of this announcement had us feeling especially appreciative we were able to attend their concert. To sum this concert up in one word, would be “WOW!”

You can still see The Piano Guys for yourselves at the remaining performances at Tuachan, now through April 12, 2025. Learn more about this show and purchase tickets, as well as learn about upcoming productions this season by visiting them online.
