Okay, technically, I’m not walking into FanX just yet. But my heart? Already there.
FanX Salt Lake Comic & Pop Culture Convention is back September 25–27, 2025 at the Salt Palace Convention Center, and they just dropped the kind of guest announcement that makes my inner fangirl scream louder than a toddler when being told it’s her bedtime: John Ratzenberger and David Tennant are coming. YES, REALLY.
Let’s break this down.
We’ve got Cliff Clavin from Cheers—the original king of random trivia and awkward timing. (If you’ve ever heard me drop a “little known fact…” mid-conversation, now you know who to blame.) But John Ratzenberger is also the voice behind more Pixar characters than I can count—Hamm from Toy Story, Mack from Cars, and so many others that my kids have grown up loving. He’s basically the Easter egg of the Pixar universe.
And then there’s David Tennant. The man who made me care deeply about a centuries-old alien in a blue box. If you’ve ever fallen into a spiral of Doctor Who, Good Omens, Jessica Jones, Harry Potter, or even DuckTales—you know he’s magic. Literally and emotionally.
As if that wasn’t enough to make me dig out my cosplay bin, the full guest list this year is absolutely stacked. We’re talking everyone from William Shatner, Andrew McCarthy and Michael Rooker to Jennifer Morrison, John Schneider, and a whole crew of voice actors your kids might recognize before you do.
If you’ve never been to FanX before, here’s what you need to know:
- Yes, it’s family-friendly. There’s a ton to do for littles, tweens, teens, and tired parents who just want to nerd out for a weekend.
- There’s more than just celebrity panels and photo ops (though those are amazing). FanX is packed with artists, vendors, authors, and cosplay that’ll have you wondering why you ever shopped at the mall.
- You will absolutely leave with at least one lightsaber. Don’t fight it.
We’ve made FanX a family tradition over the years, and I can honestly say it’s one of the those events where all of us have a blast.
Tickets are on sale now, and if past years are any clue, they’ll go fast—especially with names like this. Grab yours at FanXSaltLake.com and follow FanX on social media so you don’t miss any of the surprise announcements (because you know there will be more).
So whether you’re a lifelong Whovian, a Pixar parent, or just need a weekend where your fandom is the norm—FanX 2025 is where you need to be.
See you in September!
