If you’ve followed this blog for more than five minutes, you already know how our crew feels about Fear Factory. We’re obsessed. The screams, the surprises, the sheer adrenaline—it’s our favorite twisted tradition. So when I found out they’re opening their terrifying gates for a special Friday the 13th event this June, I squealed out loud.
Yep. You heard right. Friday, June 13, 2025. Mark it. Circle it. Highlight it. Whatever you need to do. Fear Factory is going full throttle for one night only in the middle of summer, and if you’ve ever needed a reason to jumpstart spooky season three months early, this is it.

Fear Factory isn’t just a haunted house. It’s a horror experience. We’re talking six buildings high, two underground tunnels, and a real-life backstory that’s just creepy enough to make the whole thing feel too real. It’s built on the site of the old Portland Cement Company, and yep—it’s legit haunted. Like, 11-documented-deaths kind of haunted.
The scares are next-level, but the production? Unmatched. Every year they introduce new twists, wild characters, and immersive sets that feel like a horror movie you can’t pause. So immersive and fun!
June is usually for popsicles and splash pads, right? Not anymore. Friday the 13th, 2025, is turning up the terror. This is the first time since 2018 they’ve opened for this iconic date, and trust me—summer nights in downtown Salt Lake are the perfect setup for screams.
If past events are any sign, tickets will be gone faster than you can say “Nope, not going in there.” So get yours early. Bring your teens, bring your besties, bring your bravest self (you’ll need it).

Here’s something that gives me chills in the best way: Fear Factory is once again hosting the Legendary Haunt Tour on November 8, 2025. If you’re not a total haunt nerd like me, let me explain.
Each year, the haunt industry’s elite—TransWorld Trade Shows—selects only the most iconic, most terrifying haunted houses in the country to tour. Think of it like the Oscars of horror. And Fear Factory? They’ve made the list not once, but twice. Out of haunted houses worldwide, only 16 have earned this award. Fear Factory is one of them.
“This is a tremendous honor to have the Legendary Haunt tour and our friends and colleagues from around the country coming to Fear Factory,” said Rob Dunfield, co-owner and COO. “We recognize that two visits to one haunt like this is incredibly rare.”
Rare is right. This isn’t just some fanboy tour. We’re talking 300–400 haunt owners, designers, actors, and scream-professionals flying in from all over the country to experience Fear Factory firsthand, peek behind the scenes, and learn how to take their own haunts to the next level.
Fear Factory’s legendary status isn’t just hype, either. Here’s a quick rundown of the accolades:
- Scary Overload named it one of the scariest haunted houses in America in 2024.
- Scare Factor gave it a 9.7 score—one of the highest they’ve ever awarded.
- The Haunted Attraction Association (the official haunt industry org) named it a top haunt…again.
- HauntWorld Magazine ranked it in the 13 scariest in the U.S.
- Buzzfeed put it at #3 on their global haunted attraction list.
- USA Today and The Travel Channel both gave it national nods.
Fear Factory is at 666 W 800 S, Salt Lake City—yes, that’s the real address. They’ll open for the Friday the 13th event on June 13, 2025. Then the full 2025 haunt season kicks off in September 2025.
If you’re ready to laugh, scream, and maybe hide behind your kid (no judgment), visit www.fearfactoryslc.com to grab your tickets.
See you in the dark. We’ll be the ones pretending we’re not scared—while running for our lives.
