We can never say enough about the stunning setting of the red cliffs at Tuacahn, as the perfect backdrop for performances and entertainment. Now that summer has begun, attendance at Tuacahn for Disney’s The Little Mermaid, a great outdoor experience is to be had by all, and the special effects are extraordinary!

The Little Mermaid makes a big splash at Tuacahn here in southern Utah and is something the whole family can enjoy. It is a musical adventure, with familiar tunes for those who have viewed the feature film prior to this. The ever-popular song, “Under the Sea,” is performed with great gusto and enthusiasm by Sebastian, the crab. This musical sensation was just as catchy tonight as it was when we first watched the animated Disney film years ago with our small children. And of course it includes the all too beloved song, “Part of Your World,” sung by Ariel, that all will enjoy.

The costumes were extravagant and delightfully colorful, along with the set, which included water features, providing vibrancy and a mystic atmosphere, particularly since many of the scenes portrayed being, “under the sea.” The music added to this feast of color, which made for a truly magical night. The performers were amazing both on the ground and in the air!
The show took us on a journey under the sea to King Triton’s domain. Princess Ariel longs to be on dry land and with the people in the world. She has a fascination with humans that will not be satisfied by her seabound life. Her father, King Triton, forbids that she has any contact with humans. When Princess Ariel falls in love with the handsome Prince Eric, who lives on land, the pull to defy her father’s order is … well, you’ll have to come and see the show if you don’t know the story line. You will definitely not be disappointed! The wicked Ursula and her two evil eels, are even deserving of a mention, but again, if you don’t know the storyline, come and be entertained! And Ariel’s close friends, Flounder and Scuttle certainly add to the fun! Full applause for the amazing and incredibly talented cast who made this a memorable night for all who attended!
You know the show is worth seeing, and you are getting excellent value for your money, when the show has returned to Tuacahn once again, due to popular demand! This show is part of the 2025 Broadway Season here at Tuacahn. As mentioned earlier, this show is suitable for all families, with the age recommendation from 3 years old and up – there is something in it for everybody. If you are looking for a date night, The Little Mermaid will not disappoint! This is also a fun night out for couples, groups, and individuals, especially those who are Disney lovers like us!
