cannot be the only one who randomly quotes, “These go to eleven,” when talking about literally anything louder than necessary, right? Because if you know, you know. And if you don’t know, then it’s time to fix that.

On the heels of its 41st anniversary, the rockumentary that turned the volume—and the absurdity—up to eleven is making its way back to the big screen thanks to Fathom Entertainment. That’s right—This Is Spinal Tap is returning to theaters this July 5, 6, and 7th, and I’m giving one of YOU the chance to go see it with a friend. You won’t want to miss this.

Imagine a behind-the-scenes music documentary gone wildly off the rails. This Is Spinal Tap follows the fictional British heavy metal band Spinal Tap as they attempt to stage a big comeback tour in America. But what you get instead is an unforgettable send-up of rockstar egos, tragic stage props, and a string of unfortunate (and totally hilarious) bandmate “accidents.”

It’s brilliant. It’s awkward. It’s iconic.

Told in full mockumentary style—a genre this film practically invented—This Is Spinal Tap blends dry British wit, ridiculous rock clichés, and some seriously clever improvisational comedy to make you laugh out loud in that “wait, was that scripted?” kind of way.

Whether you’re revisiting this cult classic or watching it for the first time, there’s something extra magical about seeing it in a theater, surrounded by fans who totally get the joke. (Or at least are pretending to, just like the band.)

This Is Spinal Tap on a streaming service at home is one thing—but watching it on a giant screen with a crowd of people who also scream-laugh when Nigel says, “It’s such a fine line between stupid and clever”? Now that is the full experience.

There’s just something about this movie that feels timeless. It skewers the music industry, yes, but it also lovingly celebrates how weird and wonderful rock-and-roll can be. Plus, the deadpan delivery and improvised genius of the cast (Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer) make it the kind of movie you can watch again and again—and always catch something new.

So if you’re a fan of music, satire, or just quoting things until your friends beg you to stop, this one’s for you.

So here’s the fun part—I’m giving YOU a chance to go, too.
