Okay, confession time: I’ve never actually seen The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I know, I know—how have I made it this far as a Halloween enthusiast without checking that one off the list? But here’s the thing… I love all things Halloween. Creepy, spooky, campy, eerie—bring it on. And even though it’s still technically summer, I can feel the days getting just a tiny bit shorter. My brain is already whispering: “It’s almost time to haul out the skeletons and pumpkins.”

So when I heard that Fathom Entertainment is hosting The Texas Chainsaw Day—a very limited engagement of the original 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre in theaters on August 18th—I thought, maybe this is my moment. Maybe this is the perfect excuse to shift into spooky season early.

If you’ve never seen it (like me) or just want to relive the chills on the big screen, here’s the quick, non-nightmare-inducing version:
A group of friends takes a road trip through rural Texas… things take a very wrong turn when they encounter a family unlike any they’ve met before, including the now-iconic chainsaw-wielding figure known as Leatherface. Suspense, thrills, and classic horror energy ensue.

Here’s the deal: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be in select AMC, Regal, and Cinemark theaters for one day only—August 18th. You can grab your tickets at Fathom Entertainment’s site.

And because I love you guys… I’m giving away a pair of tickets to see it in theaters, courtesy of Fathom Entertainment!

How to enter:
📧 Email me at themommyavenger@hotmail.com with:

  1. Your preferred theater location (US only)
  2. Your favorite Halloween movie

That’s it! One lucky winner will be randomly chosen from qualified entries on or around August 14, 2025. Giveaway closes at that time.

The fine print: AMC, Regal, or Cinemark theaters only. Tickets subject to theater availability.

So… should we make this our first “official” spooky-season activity of the year? Because I’m already picturing myself walking out of the theater and coming home to put up a few pumpkins “just to see how they look.” 🍂🕸️
