This month, I got the best birthday gift I could have asked for—an escape with my husband to Orlando. Not just the theme-park, go-go-go Orlando that most people think of, but a side of the city I’d never experienced before. We were invited to stay at ette hotel, a boutique 5-star hotel, and let me tell you—this place redefined luxury for me.

From the moment we stepped into the lobby, it was clear that ette is not your typical Orlando hotel. Elegance, luxury, and class practically filled the air. The staff greeted us warmly, making us feel instantly at home, and I couldn’t help but notice how every single detail had been carefully thought through.

The lobby itself was stunning—two spacious sitting areas that felt like chic living rooms, lined with tables and shelves displaying high-end perfumes, colognes, and candles (yes, all available for purchase). I may or may not have left with a couple of gorgeous perfumes I’d never tried before, and now I’m officially obsessed. The air was subtly filled with the aroma of those luxury scents, and it just made you want to linger a little longer before heading upstairs.

Exploring ette

We took a quick tour of the hotel before seeing our room, and every space had me rethinking my usual “I don’t travel to stay in the hotel” mindset. At ette, the hotel is the destination.

  • The Social Room where guests can gather to watch movies.
  • The Book Room, lined with a curated selection of reads just waiting for a cozy afternoon.
  • Elegant sitting areas sprinkled throughout the property.
  • Tranquil gardens leading up to the saltwater pool, which looked like something out of a dream.
  • A gorgeous Spa at the ette that made me want to move in.
  • A state-of-the-art fitness center if you want to stay active during your stay.

And, of course, their very own Michelin-rated restaurant, Salt & the Cellar, which I’ll get to in a moment.

And all of this before I’d even seen our room.

Our Wellness Suite

When we finally headed upstairs, I was already impressed—but nothing prepared me for our Wellness Hotel Suite. Walking down the hallway, the warm lighting and charming wrought-iron bird door knockers gave the space such character. Then we opened our door, and my jaw dropped.

This suite wasn’t just a hotel room—it was an oasis. Elegant, spacious, and designed with thoughtful touches at every turn.

  • A Peloton bike and Technogym bench in our room, so we could work out in total privacy.
  • A Signature Presentation Box filled with Le Labo bath amenities and everything we could possibly need for our stay, displayed on a sleek glass shelving system. I loved this so much!
  • Fresh roses waiting for us.
  • A sound machine to ensure total rest.
  • Luxurious linens and the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in at a hotel (and I’ve stayed in plenty!).

The attention to detail blew me away. I felt pampered, cared for, and totally relaxed. Honestly, I could have happily stayed in that suite the entire trip and never stepped outside. That’s how comfortable it was.

Dining at Salt & the Cellar

Of course, we didn’t stay in, because we had to experience Salt & the Cellar by Akira Back, the hotel’s Michelin-rated restaurant. Every bite was perfection—innovative dishes, fresh flavors, and that refined yet approachable atmosphere that makes dining truly special.

In the morning, we enjoyed their buffet breakfast (available to purchase). But this wasn’t your typical “hotel breakfast.” Think European flair: creamy French butter, delicate croissants, cheese and charcuterie, perfectly cooked eggs and potatoes, savory sausages, pastries, and even miniature jars of condiments that made my food-loving heart so happy. It was the best way to start the day.

Family-Friendly Luxury

While this trip was all about celebrating as a couple, I couldn’t help but notice how family-friendly ette is becoming. They’ve recently introduced some incredible add-ons to a family’s hotel stay that make it a magical place for kids, too.

  • The Little Hotelier Program at the ette invites kids to step behind the scenes of the hotel world. They get to “check in” a signature stuffed giraffe, tour the one-of-a-kind Laundry Museum (side note–the Laundry Museum is an open concept laundry area of the hotel where you can see the inner workings of the hotel, which even feels luxurious to watch) , learn towel-folding with the staff, and even make a mocktail at the Salt & the Cellar bar in their very own embroidered Mini Hotelier apron. They finish with a certificate of completion, which is just the cutest keepsake.
  • The In-Room Teepee Experience turns a guest room into a whimsical wonderland, complete with fairy lights, plush pillows, bedtime books, and even milk and cookies with a plush toy gift. (I secretly would love this, too!)

These thoughtful touches show that ette isn’t just a destination for couples—it’s a retreat where families can slow down, breathe, and make memories away from the noise of Orlando’s theme parks.

Why ette Stands Out

What struck me most about our stay is that ette felt like an escape within an escape. Orlando is amazing, and I love going there for all the attractions, but this hotel gave me a different perspective on the city. It reminded me that a vacation doesn’t have to be all about hustle and schedules—it can also be about slowing down, recharging, and savoring luxury.

Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway or traveling with family, ette has mastered the art of hospitality. Every detail, every aroma, every smile from the staff—it all created a sense of oasis that I know we’ll be returning to.

In fact, I’m already planning my next Orlando trip, not just for the theme parks, but to go back to ette. And that’s saying something.
