There are donuts… and then there are Duck Donuts. If you know, you know — and if you don’t know, I’m here to change your life (or at least your Saturday mornings).

When we lived on the East Coast, Duck Donuts was one of those family traditions that felt like pure joy — warm, sweet, made-right-in-front-of-you joy. We’d find the nearest location, walk in to that comforting smell of freshly fried dough, and watch as our creations came to life. So, when I found out there was a Duck Donuts here in Utah — right in South Jordan, no less — I practically squealed. And let me tell you, it’s everything I remembered and more.

The South Jordan shop is locally owned and operated by the most delightful, kind people, and you can feel that warmth the moment you walk in. It’s bright, happy, and full of the sound of sizzling batter and laughter. They make every single donut by hand, and there’s something mesmerizing about watching the process from start to finish. The batter is mixed to perfection right there in the shop, poured into the donut maker, and dropped into what can only be described as a golden river of hot oil. When those little circles of happiness float up and out, they’re coated and topped exactly how you want them — totally customizable and totally drool-worthy.

You can go classic with cinnamon sugar, rich chocolate glaze, or maple icing with bacon on top (trust me — it’s a game-changer). Or you can get wild and create your own combo with whatever toppings your heart desires. The best part? They hand you your box of fresh, made-to-order donuts while they’re still hot. And eating a warm Duck Donut… honestly, it’s heaven on earth. The outside is lightly crisp, the inside melts in your mouth, and every bite tastes like it was made just for you. I’ve never had a better donut — and I say that with full confidence.

If you haven’t been yet, go. Now. Seriously. Take your kids, your best friend, your coworkers — anyone. Watching those donuts being made is half the fun, and eating them fresh is the other half. It’s an experience that turns a normal treat run into something special.

And because Duck Donuts always knows how to make a season extra sweet, right now they’re serving up their Spooky Dozen for Halloween — and they are ridiculously fun. I stopped in this weekend to pick up a box, and they were the hit of our get-together. These donuts are decked out in festive colors and toppings that scream October — think orange drizzle, spooky sprinkles, chocolate and vanilla icing, crushed Oreos, and candy pieces that make every bite a little party of its own. Each one looks like it came straight out of a Halloween movie — except better, because you can eat it.

Here’s a peek at some of the frightfully fun flavors haunting boxes this month:

🍫 Dirt & Worms – A kid (and kid-at-heart) favorite, this donut is covered in chocolate icing, loaded with OREO® cookie crumbles, and topped with a limited-time gummy worm for that perfect mix of spooky and sweet. It’s like a Halloween party on a donut.

🎃 Halloween Haunting – Vanilla icing with colorful Halloween sprinkles and a swirl of buttercream on top. It’s festive, fun, and feels like the donut version of trick-or-treating — bright, sweet, and impossible not to smile at.

🌕 Werewolf – This one’s for the grown-up palates who love that salty-sweet combo. A maple-iced donut topped with chopped bacon and drizzled with raspberry — it’s bold, unexpected, and insanely good. Think “breakfast meets full moon feast.”

⚰️ Graveyard – Vanilla icing covered with OREO® cookie pieces and a gooey marshmallow drizzle. It’s the perfect mix of creamy, crunchy, and soft — spooky in name, but pure comfort in flavor.

If you’re heading to a Halloween bash, classroom party, or even just planning a cozy night in watching Hocus Pocus for the tenth time (no judgment here), show up with a box of Duck Donuts Spooky Dozen and you’ll instantly be the hero of the night. Everyone will ask where you got them, and you’ll just smile knowingly, like, “Yep, I found donut perfection.”

The Spooky Dozen is only here for a limited time, so don’t wait — grab a box (or two) before they vanish into the Halloween night. Because when it comes to Duck Donuts, one thing’s for sure: nothing — and I mean nothing — beats a hot, fresh, made-just-for-you donut.

Go. Treat yourself. Thank me later.
