With fall in the air, what better way to be entertained than an evening at the Tuachan Outdoor Amphitheatre. The Odyssey Dance Theatre is back delighting audiences with the much-loved show, Thriller.

For those who eagerly wait for Halloween to be upon us, the performance of Thriller highlights the best of what we know and imagine this celebration to be. You may let out gasps of fright but will soon find this will be mingled with laughter, and applause. You may also find yourself squirming in your seat at times, as the hauntingly festive performance is executed in a manner that captures the thrill of the season.

Odyssey’s Thriller provides for a family-friendly evening, though not recommend for the faint of heart. Also, note that children under the age of 3 are not permitted into the amphitheater.

For those who love dance, you will be thrilled at the varying styles of dance and the accompanying choreography. The dance routines blending technical dance with spookiness will be sure to entertain you. Add to this the costumes, set designs and music, and you will know Halloween is upon us.

Be prepared for the zombies that are wandering around the premises as you arrive. If you are caught unaware of their presence until they are engaging, you can cause quite the alarming fright. After the initial fright, you will no doubt laugh at the fun of it all and can even request to take photos with these ghoulish, yet realistic zombies.

The opening number is executed superbly, reminding us of the era when Michael Jackson’s song, Thriller hit the charts. People, both old and young, learned the choreography, and eagerly join in dancing when given the opportunity to do so. The dance troupe is exceptionally spectacular during this number, and many others that I found myself trying to watch every performer capture the magic of the dance and music. You will recognize other familiar music, and again, each number is performed with precision and high energy. The passion of the performers shows in the delivery of their art.

The Odyssey Dance Theater Company have scheduled performances from Tuesday, October 28th to Saturday, November 1st. You can even enjoy the show on Halloween night – so if you plan on trick or treating, you can still enjoy doing so before the night’s performance. Be sure to grab your tickets now so you don’t miss out!

Now that the weather in Southern Utah has cooled down, and will continue to do so, you may want to dress a little warmer, as some of the show is sure to add to the coolness of the night, with shivers of fright and delight. Also, be sure to note the start time of performances, as these do change as the season progresses. The night promises to surprise those who have already been to Thriller at Tuachan, so you are guaranteed not just a great evening, but can attend in anticipation of new and original numbers.

Happy Halloween!
