As we usher in the Christmas season and holiday festivities, what better way than to spend a night out attending the musical “Elf” at the ever so captivating Tuacahn Amphitheatre. We cannot express enough how every show we have attended there always lives up to the hype of the setting, whether it’s indoor or outdoor. Tuacahn is simply breathtaking and beautiful, and the Christmas lighting as you drive into the venue is merry and bright. Since the temperature here in Southern Utah is considerably cooler this time of year, this musical is being held in the indoor Hafen Theater. It is important to note that children under 5 years old are not permitted into the indoor theater.  

Elf The musical will have you laughing all the way! It is entertainingly comical and will keep you smiling and laughing throughout the show. The storyline of Buddy the Elf is warm and heartening. When Buddy comes to the realization that he is in fact human, and not one of Santa’s elves, off to New York City he goes. The purpose of this journey is to locate his biological father, Walter Hobbs, a cynical children’s book publisher.  

Although Buddy was raised in the North Pole by elves, it is clear that he does not fit in. His size is enormous and very obvious next to the elves; however, Buddy is quite childlike in his behavior. Another big difference from Buddy and Santa’s elves is he is far less skilled in the art of toymaking. When Buddy finds his natural father, he discovers his dad is a workaholic and doesn’t spend much time with his wife and son. Buddy is determined to bring Christmas cheer to his dad. Come along and watch how Buddy brings the Christmas spirit to his family and to the City of New York. 

The entire cast of this show displays great enthusiasm. The cast member who plays Buddy the Elf is particularly energetic and fun to watch. All the cast members give exuberant performances, presenting a wonderfully balanced and awesome show. This musical production was joyful, highlighting a spectacular, funny, and heartwarming show with an impressive cast, stunning sets, amazing special effects,memorable songs, and a delightful holiday atmosphere. A close connection to the cast was definitely felt in the indoor setting. Tuacahn always delivers a fantastic and enjoyable experience!  

Come and experience and enjoy the festive atmosphere and sing along to familiar songs now through December 20, 2025. You will feel the holiday magic, the warmth of the Christmas season and take it home with you. Elf The Musical is a show that is great for the whole family (keeping in mind the age limit outlined above.) You will be absolutely entertained!
