We were excited to be invited to preview Greenland 2: Migration last night, especially because I’ve been looking forward to seeing the next chapter of this story. If you know me, you know I love a good disaster movie — the bigger the chaos, the better — and this sequel did not disappoint when it came to action and full-scale catastrophe.

After the events of the first Greenland movie, the world as we knew it is gone. Humanity has been forced underground to survive, including the Garrity family, who have been living in a bunker in Greenland. When their shelter is no longer a viable long-term option, they’re forced to take a dangerous journey across what’s left of the world in search of a new place to live. What follows is a nonstop trek through destruction, uncertainty, and the kind of situations that make you grip your armrest a little tighter.

If you liked the first movie, I honestly think this one is even better. The stakes feel higher, the action is bigger, and the disaster elements are turned all the way up. Now, I’ll admit — some of the plot points and sequences are a tad outrageous. But that’s kind of the beauty of a disaster movie, isn’t it? There is just nothing like seeing this kind of epic destruction on the big screen. We will always jump at the chance to experience massive special effects and larger-than-life moments in a theater setting.

Were we taking every moment as seriously as they may have wanted us to? Probably not. But were we entertained? Absolutely. From start to finish, this sequel kept us engaged, tense, and occasionally shaking our heads while still enjoying the ride.

Greenland 2: Migration hits theaters January 9, 2026, and if you’re a fan of disaster movies or enjoyed the first film, this one is definitely worth checking out on the big screen.
