If you’ve been around here for a while, you know there are a few things that instantly get a “yes” from our family. Anything that feels magical. Anything that feels like an experience, not just an outing. And anything that lets us step out of real life for a bit and just be amazed together.

So when we found out that Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA is coming to South Florida, I may have squealed a little. Okay, a lot.

Cirque du Soleil is bringing LUZIA under the Big Top at Gulfstream Park from February 19 through April 25, 2026, and we are already counting down the days. If you’ve never seen a Cirque show live, let me just say this: it’s not something you watch. It’s something you feel.

What is LUZIA?

LUZIA is described as a “waking dream of Mexico,” and honestly, that’s the perfect way to put it. The show blends light (“luz”) and rain (“lluvia”) into this surreal, beautiful world that moves between dreams and reality. One moment you’re in a smoky dance hall, the next you’re in the desert, then suddenly you’re surrounded by water falling from the sky.

Yes. Rain. On stage.
This is actually the first Cirque du Soleil touring production to incorporate rain into the performance, and the visuals alone sound incredible.

The New York Times called it “Cirque du Soleil at its peak,” which is saying a lot.

Why we’re especially excited

LUZIA isn’t just going to be stunning to look at. The performances themselves sound next-level.

We’re talking about:

  • Cyr Wheel artists spinning and rolling under pouring rain
  • A trapeze aerialist flying through actual showers
  • Hoop Diving on massive treadmills that somehow makes gravity look optional
  • A contortionist bending in ways that don’t seem human
  • Aerial straps performed over a cenote-inspired stage
  • A juggler tossing seven pins at lightning speed
  • Soccer freestylers mixing dance and insane ball control

It’s going to be one of those shows where you know the kids are going to sit there with their mouths open… and the adults will too.

A perfect Miami experience

There’s something extra special about seeing Cirque du Soleil under the Big Top, especially while in South Florida. Gulfstream Park already feels like an outing on its own, and adding a world-class Cirque production turns it into a full experience. Date night, family night, girls’ night, visiting-relatives-need-entertainment night… this one checks all the boxes.

How to get tickets

Tickets for LUZIA in South Florida are available now through the Fever website or the Fever app. If this is one you’re thinking about, my advice is to grab tickets sooner rather than later. Cirque shows have a way of selling fast once word gets out.
