If your family loves the outdoors, you’re going to want to clear some space on the calendar this weekend.

The International Sportsmen’s Expo is returning to the Mountain America Expo Center from Thursday, March 12 through Sunday, March 15, and it’s one of the biggest outdoor events of the year in Utah.

Think of it as four days packed with adventure inspiration. Hunting, fishing, camping, off-roading, boating, and outdoor travel are all under one roof. It’s the kind of event where you walk in thinking you’ll “just look around” and walk out planning your next family camping trip.

What Happens at the International Sportsmen’s Expo?

The expo is Utah’s largest outdoor consumer show and it draws hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of outdoor enthusiasts every year. 

Inside you’ll find booths filled with:

• The latest hunting and fishing gear
• Camping equipment and outdoor gadgets
• Boats, RVs, and off-road vehicles
• Guides and outfitters offering trips across the West, Alaska, Mexico, and beyond
• Local outdoor companies and experts ready to answer questions

It’s also a great place to learn new skills and hear from experienced outdoorsmen and women through live presentations and demonstrations.

Some of the seminars and presentations happening during the show include topics like:

• Fishing for Trout & Kokanee in the Mountain West
• Mastering Kokanee Fundamentals: Gear, Tactics & Electronics
• The 5 Basic Needs of a Survivor
• Camping Skills for Kids (and Adults!)
• Wild Utah!
• Down Rigging 101
• Agility Dog Performances and gun-dog training demonstrations

These talks take place throughout the weekend in different theater areas like the Adventure Theater, Campfire Theater, and the Sporting-Dog Arena, so there’s always something interesting happening while you explore.

One of my favorite things about the International Sportsmen’s Expo is that it’s not just for serious hunters or anglers.

It’s designed for families and beginners too.

Kids can watch dog agility shows, learn outdoor skills, see wildlife displays, and explore booths full of hands-on gear. There are also youth activities that help introduce the next generation to outdoor recreation in a fun way. 

If you’ve ever wanted to try something new as a family—fishing, camping, backpacking, boating, or off-roading—this is a fantastic place to start. You can ask questions, talk to experts, and see equipment up close before heading out on your own adventure.

And honestly? Even if you just love browsing cool outdoor gear and dreaming about your next trip, it’s a fun way to spend a few hours.

Parking at the expo center is free, which is always a win.
