Vacationing at Embassy Suites Boston-Marlborough

We love getting away for quick trips to explore different cities. This past weekend, we had the pleasure of being invited to stay at the Embassy Suites Boston-Marlborough property, while we visited Boston and the surrounding area.  Embassy Suites is always a great family hotel choice for so many reasons.

This property is located in Marlborough, with an easy drive into the city about 15 minutes away. Located in a very nice area, there are many restaurant choices nearby, easy access to freeways, and free parking at the hotel. Upon arrival at the property, we were greeted with a very clean hotel and friendly staff.  Our room was ready and when we opened the door, we found the room to be very clean and roomy.  Embassy Suites always has plenty of room, as at a minimum there is a bedroom with a door and a separate living space with kitchenette.  The room was big enough to sleep all six of us comfortably.

It’s always so important to have a great “home base” for when we travel.  We are on the go all day long, so by the time we come back to the hotel, we just want to kick back and relax.  Having enough space for everyone in our family to spread out is so important!

The beds were extremely comfortable, the shower was roomy and relaxing, and there were great personal care products from Crabtree and Evelyn that smelled delicious!

We could have been entirely happy with our room just with those things, but Embassy Suites never stops at the room, they add so much more to a family hotel stay, as they know what makes families happy!  Included in your stay is a complimentary breakfast.  This isn’t just grab a bagel and go kind of breakfast, this is so much more!  A huge buffet of breakfast items are available–cereal, English muffins, breakfast pastries, sausage, potatoes, bacon, scrambled eggs and more on one side and on another is the made-to-order breakfast option where you can have chocolate chip or blueberry pancakes, omelets, and more.  There is something for everyone and the service is friendly and wonderful.  We all looked forward to breakfast each morning, as it fueled us for the adventures that we would have each day.  The food was delicious and a great way to start the day.

After you have been out on the town all day, Embassy Suites also has a very nice evening reception.  Here you can pick up drinks for everyone in the family and some nice snacks, too.  A great and complimentary service that recharges everyone in between site-seeing and dinner.

Each Embassy Suites property has an indoor pool, and we all know the kids look forward to swimming at hotels.  This particular pool was large and fit a lot of kids.  There were hockey tournaments going on at the time of our visit, so there were tons of kids at the property.  But, it was never overcrowded.  Looking around the pool, there were kids everywhere enjoying the amenities and parents relaxing in the hot tub or comfortably observing from the side. Swimming is always a great way to unwind at the end of the day.

We’ve stayed at a lot of Embassy Suites before and always enjoy our time there.  However, it is worth mentioning that this could be the most kid-friendly hotel I have stayed at.  There were activities planned for the entire weekend for kids! Upon our arrival at the hotel, we received this schedule.

As you can see, we were in for many fun treats for the kids!  Face painting, knee hockey, magicians, tattoos (these were not ordinary stick on tattoos, but one that an artist sprayed on your arm–really cool!), clowns, and s’mores by the fire pit!  This is something your kids definitely want to find at the hotel they are staying at, it’s an awesome surprise!

There was also a game room with arcade games that the kids absolutely loved finding here, too.  It was such a welcoming place for kids, which, of course, made them feel at home, and parents felt this was a great place to stay as a family.  What a difference this was from some hotels we have stayed at with our kids where they weren’t even welcome to swim in the pool.

I was impressed for so many reasons and would definitely come back to stay at this property when we come back to Boston.  We frequently visit the area and it’s nice to find a place we want to make a part of our recurring travel plans. I highly recommend this hotel to you for your next family vacation to the Boston area!

*We were invited to stay at the hotel to facilitate a review, all opinions are my own.

  1. I love that they have an activities menu they are sharing with you when you check in. I’d love to visit Boston (it’s on our to-do list). We travel quit a bit, I’ll remember your Embassy recommendation.
