Here is something I have learned after years of dragging my family to every conceivable kind of event: the ones they talk about longest are almost never the ones you expect. Sometimes the memory that sticks is the one where your kid grabs your arm because a rider just launched forty feet into the air and — for one breathless, suspended second — everything else in the world went completely quiet.

That is Supercross. And it is coming to Salt Lake City on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Round 17 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship is landing right in our backyard, and I am here to tell you: you want to be in that stadium.

What You’re Actually Walking Into

Monster Energy AMA Supercross is the highest level of indoor stadium motocross racing in the world. The best riders on the planet — the 450 class and the 250 class — compete on a purpose-built dirt track constructed right inside the stadium. Massive jumps. Rhythm sections. Speeds that will make your jaw drop. And the atmosphere? The sound of those bikes reverberating through a packed stadium is unlike anything else. The crowd energy is electric from the moment the gates open. This is a production — and every moment is designed to be an experience.

The Salt Lake City stop is especially exciting this year because it features the 250 East/West Showdown — a rare format where riders from both 250SX divisions compete head-to-head in the same Main Event. All season they race separately, so when they finally collide on the same track, the stakes are enormous. If you have even a casual interest in motorsports, this is the round to see.

A Full Day of Fun — Not Just a Race

This is not a show where you arrive twenty minutes before curtain. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. and something is happening every single hour.

10 AM – 4 PM FanFest — pit access, autographs, rider meet & greets, giveaways 3:00 PM Monster Energy Rig Riot — live music, prizes, nonstop crowd energy 4:30 PM Opening Ceremonies 5:00 PM Main Event

FanFest alone is worth getting there early for. While the pros are qualifying on the track, you are on the floor watching teams work in the pits and getting face-to-face with the riders your kids have been watching on their screens. Autographs. Photos. The kind of access you simply do not get at most live sporting events. And the Rig Riot at 3:00 p.m. is pure, unfiltered hype — live music, prizes flying into the stands, riders in the crowd. It sets the entire tone for the evening.

Who Is This For?

Everyone. Genuinely. Little ones obsessed with anything that moves fast will lose their minds. Teenagers who are impossible to impress? Put them in that stadium and watch what happens. The scale and the sound and the sheer audacity of what these riders do cuts right through even the most determined adolescent indifference. And if you have never been to a motorsports event in your life — there is no better introduction than this. By the time the main event is in full swing, you will be on your feet without even realizing you stood up.

How to Get Tickets

Tickets are available here with all-in pricing — the price you see includes all fees, no surprises at checkout. FanFest requires a separate add-on ticket (with your event ticket) and is absolutely worth it. All guests age 2 and up need a ticket.
