A Sweet Goodbye to Summer

We said goodbye to summer this week, which I was sad about.  I know routine is good, but it was so nice to have time with my family enjoying the summer sun, the pool, the beach, travel, exploring, camp fires, catching fireflies, and all the other wonderful things that go along with summer time.  It was a great summer!

Last month we received a scrumptious delivery, courtesy of See’s Candies*.  When we opened the box, we found chocolate treasures that celebrated the flavors of summer berries and See’s own chocolate chips for baking.  These were incredible treats to receive! We couldn’t wait to try them.  The Summer Berries assortments were delightful, and just the sort of chocolates that I love.  Soft centered berry flavors like blueberry, strawberry, and my favorite, raspberry, covered in milk and dark chocolate.  Such a wonderful way to indulge in summer fruits!  These were so delicious, I am putting it on my list of great gift ideas for friends!

See's Candies Summer Berries and chocolate chips

With the end of summer here, it was time to prep for school to start-up again.  Part of that, of course is packing lunches.  I knew just what I wanted to do with the See’s semi-sweet chocolate chips.  It was time to bake some chocolate chip cookies.  Following the recipe on the back of the package, we made some Back to School chocolate chip cookies for their lunches.

While I did manage to take a picture of the start of us baking, these cookies were so good that they disappeared before I could get a picture of the finished product. That’s a sign of a irresistible cookie!  The recipe is butter based, not shortening based, so the cookies and thin and rich.  The chocolate chips from See’s are large morsels, which makes for big chocolate taste throughout the cookies, and my family loved that!

I was so impressed with the products I tried from See’s that I most definitely will be ordering from them again.  In fact, I can’t wait to see what their holiday treats are like. These will be perfect for gift giving, simple, easy and delicious!

You can find sweet treats for every one you know by visiting their website.  You won’t be disappointed!

  1. Wow, what a yummy Post. Only thing is you have awoken my sweet tooth and there’s no chocolate in the house. It’s okay I’ll just drool over your pictures like I always do. ~hehehe~ Wonderful photos. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I have heard of See’s often. I haven’t tried them though. Years ago there used to be a chocolate with raspberry gel or something inside. I haven’t thought of it in years, but I’m going to go over to the site and see if they have it. 🙂

  3. No! I am not ready to let go of Summer just yet. Here in OR we have some hot weather left before the rain comes.
