Creating My Thanksgiving Feast

Happy Thanksgiving! We are hosting a big dinner tomorrow and so today I am cooking up a storm. Our dinner consists of a wide variety of dishes that we only have one time a year. Turkey that is to died for, cranberry sauce (whole berry is the way to go in our house, not canned!), a very special stuffing using apple sausage from our favorite Amish market in Pennsylvania, a dessert-like sweet potato dish, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, and then of course, there are the desserts. In preparation for tomorrow, I am cooking up a storm using some of my very favorite products to get the job done.

Emile Henry has a huge assortment of bakeware that is wonderful. They are special pieces that can be used for both holidays and everyday. As you can tell, I have many dishes to create, so I need really great cookware that can go from oven to table and look lovely in the process.

These high-end, very high quality line of products are beautiful to look at. They come in so many fun colors and who doesn’t want some extra pizzazz when it comes to cooking dinner?

I received a couple of great items to check out* and I was amazed at the difference in quality compared to the items I had been using. The ceramic large rectangular casserole dish is a must-have for every kitchen. This ovenware is perfect for lasagna or, my favorite, enchiladas. Plenty of room to make a dinner for a big family or to use for baking a dessert, like brownies. The ceramic cooks everything so well, evenly distributing the heat throughout. Cleaning is a breeze and it washes up so nicely. But, here is the really amazing thing about this ovenware–you can put it in the freezer to the oven or microwave and even wash it in the dishwasher. How wonderful to have it be safe to use in all of those appliances! So for Thanksgiving, I naturally go to this casserole dish for my sweet potatoes.

When it comes to actual meal prep, I adore Emile Henry’s mixing bowls.  This set of slate mixing bowls serves a very practical purpose in the kitchen, but also looks great as a serving dish on my Thanksgiving table. While I love the slate color, if it isn’t your favorite, there are plenty of other eye-pleasing colors to choose from, too.

Speaking about serving, when it comes to having a butter dish on the table for rolls, I am absolutely loving this new butter pot, which is also in slate to match my mixing bowls. I love very soft butter to use for rolls, but also for bagels in the morning and this butter pot takes the French technique of serving butter in pots to homes everywhere.  Simply put softened butter in the cup part of the pot.  Then add a bit of water to the bowl and place the cup back inside.  The moisture from the water allows the butter to stay smooth and creamy at room temperature.  There is no need to refrigerate it! I love the small container and the look that it has so much better than a butter dish.

I love Emile Henry’s products so much that I want to invest in many different types of pans to fill my shelves and get rid of all my old bake ware! To learn more about the brand, explore their great products, and to order your own, visit them at http://www.emilehenryusa.com.

Here’s wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving!
