It’s time to decorate for Halloween!  I love this time of year and love creating a spooky atmosphere at home.  Each year, we love to add new fun pieces to our collection and enjoy bringing out our old favorites.  I’d love to share with you some great finds* to bring out the Halloween spirit at your house!

We are huge Nightmare Before Christmas fans in this house.  Naturally, that movie lends to a great addition to Halloween decor this time of year.  We love this fun Jack Skellington light that creates a very cool ambiance in any room, whether it be day or night. Etsy shop KarensWineSeller creates one of kind, hand made decorations using wine bottles.  We thought this particular bottle was great to represent our love of the movie.  It is nicely handprinted and frosted, with white twinkle lights inside and finished with a themed ribbon.  Not only does this awesome shop sell Halloween decorations, they sell Christmas  and personalized gifts for anniversaries and birthdays.  Check it out, you will love her creations!

We see tons of pumpkins in October, but I like this unusual twist  on tradition for long-lasting decorations.  These hand painted gourds from Etsy shop WalkinToPisgah remind me of my favorite spooky city to visit–Salem! The flying witch is all throughout the town and I have very fond memories of times spent there. This shop specializes in unique primitive Halloween items and we love them! This piece is very delicate, but I know we’ll enjoy for many many years to come.

Speaking of my favorite Halloween destination, I was thrilled to find two of my favorite things meshed together.  What is that?  Amazing fall scented candles and the Witch City combined makes Witch City Wicks, an awesome Salem, Massachusetts based company that creates delicious smelling soy-based candles.  I’m in love!  Stock up on these babies from their Halloween collection with fun names and vintage looking labels like “Poison Apple,” “Bite Me,” “Witches Broom,” and “Seance” to create just the right aroma for your home.

Ok, now that we have the lighting, decorations and smell going for us to welcome October and it’s Halloween festivities, it’s time to put the finishing touches on one final thing.  My pup!  We have to dress her for the occasion, too!  I love this Halloween collar stitched with love from Etsy shop YouHadMeAtWoof.  Such great quality items, it even has a reflector for safety, which is a great feature.  If you are anything like me and like to change your dog’s look with the seasons, this is the shop for you. There are over 200 different handmade choices through this online retailer.  I can’t wait to pick out a few more for the rest of the year.
