I Find it Strange,But I Loved it

As you know by now, super hero movies are kind of a big deal in this household.  You can see it in my name and in any mention of movies I write about on the site.  Sometimes, believe it or not, I do not get excited about new movies that come out, featuring some other comic character.  I have to admit, when I heard about Doctor Strange, I had zero desire to see it.  It did not peak my interest.  So, after a couple of my boys saw it in the theatre and raved about it, my other boys naturally wanted to see it.  So, I reluctantly went to go see it, fully expecting to just enjoy a two hour nap in the dark while my boys liked the movie.  Sometimes, we just power through for our kids, am I right?

Arriving to see the movie, I started to get comfortable for my nap, but found something else happened.  Oh my gosh, I was  sucked into the movie plot immediately.  Before I knew it, the movie was over and I hadn’t closed my eyes once.  Just the opposite, in fact, I was totally invested and engaged in the story line.  I was shocked! I’ll also admit I was not a fan of Benedict Cumberbatch before I saw the movie.  But, he fit the role so well and did a great job with it.

The movie was a really abstract concept, but one that turned out to be exciting and really fun.  We were so excited to get to see it again on Blu-ray* this week, now that the movie is on shelves everywhere.  Sitting down together as family, this was a great choice for an action-packed movie night.  Some of the special effects were incredible in the film.  Especially the Hong Kong scenes, which you can see some behind-the-scenes details about in the clips below.

I love it when you are pleasantly surprised by a movie you didn’t have any intention of liking.  Doctor Strange turned out to be absolutely fantastic and one we will watch over and over again.  You can pick up your own copy on Blu-ray now to enjoy with your own family, you will love it!
