Get ready for someTHING big! The Cat in the Hat is only in theaters November 6, and this is not the Cat you think you know.
In the wonderfully whimsical tradition of Dr. Seuss, the Cat makes his animated theatrical feature film debut in an all-new, epic adventure with an edge, where mischief, magic, and mayhem reign supreme. Voiced by Bill Hader, he does what he does best: spreading joy to kids in his hilarious, signature, and singularly irreverent way. Along the way, he takes them (and us) on a fantastical journey through a world we’ve never seen before.
Here’s the setup. The Cat takes on his toughest assignment yet for the I.I.I.I., the Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration, LLC. His mission is to cheer up Gabby and Sebastian, a pair of siblings struggling with their move to a new town. Anyone who has ever been the new kid, or helped their own kids through a big move, will feel that. But the Cat is known for taking things a little too far, and this could be his last chance to prove himself. If it goes wrong, he could lose his magical hat for good.
It’s a story about imagination, a little chaos, and finding your way in a new place, all wrapped in a colorful, laugh-out-loud adventure the whole family can enjoy together. Add a voice cast like this one and it gets even better. Starring alongside Hader are Xochitl Gomez, Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson, and Paula Pell, with Tiago Martinez, Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, Bowen Yang, and Tituss Burgess also featured. The film is directed by Erica Rivinoja and Alessandro Carloni from their own screenplay, with a story by Caroline Williams, and produced by Daniela Mazzucato.
This is one to see on the big screen with a theater full of kids laughing at the same moment, and I’m excited to give some of you the chance to see it first. I’m giving away tickets to an early screening in Sandy, Utah, on November 2nd (*some restrictions apply), days before the movie opens everywhere. To enter, just email me at themommyavenger@hotmail.com for a chance to win 4 tickets. 8 winners will be picked from qualified entries on or about October 31, 2026, so send your email soon.
