Ah….summer! We love the carefree days to play, explore and just be kids. We spend tons of time outside, but when it rains or we just need some down time, it’s fun to turn on the video games. We are huge fans of LEGO in this house, so we were excited to get to check out LEGO Worlds.* This game is so much fun!
For those unfamiliar, this game has some similarities to Disney Infinity. My kids really like that game, but found that LEGO Worlds was much more enjoyable. They discovered quickly that there was much more possibility and creativity in this game.
LEGO® Worlds is a galaxy of imaginative Worlds made entirely of digital LEGO bricks where players can explore, discover and create together! Gamers can build whatever they imagine in environments that range from fun to the fantastical, where dynamic Worlds are brimming with customizable characters, a variety of vehicles and creatures from cargo planes and air boats to monkeys and dragons. Players can embark on a quest to find a sword for a king, protect a farmer from a zombie invasion or build a home for a caveman; there are always new things to discover as they aim to become a Master Builder.
Tons of features are found in this game. While my boys played together, you can also play online with a friend, explore each other’s worlds and show off their creations.
There is a sandbox mode where you can create anything. Imagine building LEGOS virtually. You can use any tools or accessories (jet packs, ice guns, lava guns) for any character in the sandbox. You can spawn new characters like the Creature from the Black Lagoon or Dracula in the sandbox. As a parent, I appreciated that they were still using their imagination, even while playing a video game.
Adventure mode was so much fun, where you can create you own characters and go on missions. It teaches you how to use each tool (discover and create) to complete missions to obtain gold bricks, enabling you to unlock other worlds where you can discover new abilities. Players can tunnel through terrains, discover underwater adventures or even journey through the clouds in vibrant Worlds filled with customizable characters, and a huge assortment of vehicles and creatures from motorbikes and hot air balloons to polar bears and scorpions.
The possibilities are virtually endless in the game, as the only thing that limits you is your imagination. My kids absolutely loved playing Lego Worlds and would highly recommend it to you! LEGO Worlds is available on PlayStation®4, Xbox One®, Nintendo Switch™, STEAM and is rated E10+. You can pick up your own copy at major retailers everywhere.
