Before this year, my Christmas traditions have always included going to New York City to see the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center and the lights on Fifth Avenue. Nothing quite like that to get the Christmas spirit going! Since moving across the country, though, new traditions need to be found and new destinations that fulfill the sparkle and wonder of seeing all the dancing and twinkling lights in the Big Apple. Salt Lake City is not the same as New York, but I have found an awesome spot to see some incredible festivities that light up the night in the heart of the city. Lumaze Salt Lake City is a Fairy Tale Christmas themed outdoor light festival. Kids and adults alike will love seeing the night ablaze with brilliant LED lights to celebrate the holiday season.

I was invited to check out the fest held at Utah Fairpark Event Center this weekend and it was a lovely sight to behold.

You can’t help but feel the magic of the season when every pathway is illuminated with twinkle lights. Lumaze is a great family-friendly destination to kick off the holidays! In addition to the lights, there are special kid stations like train rides, swings, bouncy farm, play in a gingerbread castle and more to keep them entertained! Your little ones will love to walk through the winter wonderland at Lumaze. Upon entry to the attraction, you can pick up a scavenger hunt booklet to find all the special stamps found within the lighted walkways. If you collect them all, you can get a special prize at the end! Parents will love to sip on some hot chocolate or other specialties and enjoy live music, food, and the wonderful atmosphere.

Lumaze just opened up this past weekend and runs most nights through January 2nd. Due to Covid restrictions, timed tickets are available to reduce crowds and safety precautions are fully implemented. Be sure to visit their website for more details and to purchase your own tickets!
