A Sweet Experience at Sugar Space

Have you heard about the latest thing to do in Salt Lake City? Going to a candlelight concert! I had never done it before but was really excited to give it a try when we were invited to see Candlelight: A Tribute to Taylor Swift at Sugar Space. This was the first concert that kicks off the series of performances.

I knew it looked amazing from previous photos that I had seen and I love the idea behind this because it is so beautiful and unique. Imagine sitting in a very cool venue, lights off, with only the glimmer of candle light to illuminate the room. Add to that live musicians and I think you have the makings of a wonderful evening.

I was right about thinking it would be incredible. We got to listen to Range Ensemble, a string quartet that included two violins, a viola, and a cello. When purchasing your tickets, you purchase by zones. We were able to be upfront and center, but there is no bad space to sit and enjoy this other-worldly concert. Rest assured, no matter where you sit, you will get the full experience.

The evening was absolutely magical and relaxing. A really great detour from the everyday. The ambiance was incredible and when you pair that with the talents of the musicians, you can’t go wrong. The audience absolutely loved every song that was played and they even encouraged some audience participation at points.

Sad you didn’t join me in the first night of concerts? No worries! You still have a chance to see it live for yourself. Candlelight: A Tribute to Taylor Swift is open to ages 8 and up when it comes back to Sugar Space May 6th, June 23rd, and August 5th, two performances each night at 6:15pm and 8:30pm. Tickets are not available at the door and sell out quickly, so you will want to purchase them ahead of time online.

The tentative set list played by string quartet–Range Ensemble- is as follows:

  • Lavender Haze
  • Love Story
  • Cardigan
  • Blank Space
  • Enchanted
  • Anti-Hero
  • We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
  • All Too Well
  • Wildest Dreams
  • Lover
  • I Knew You Were Trouble
  • You Belong With Me

Each experience and venue are completely unique, you won’t want to miss it. It is such an enjoyable evening! Be sure to check out other upcoming performances, concerts and events presented by Fever. I, for one, can’t wait to go back and see another show!
