Here is something I did not know I needed until I found out it existed: a world-class fine art fair, right here in our backyard, happening right now.

The inaugural Salt Lake Art Show is running May 14–17, 2026 at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy — and I am not being dramatic when I say this is the kind of event that makes you genuinely proud to live in this valley.

What Is This, Exactly?

Think of it as the art world coming to us for a change. The Salt Lake Art Show is a Peaks Art Fairs event — the same team behind the acclaimed Reno Tahoe International Art Show — and they have brought something truly extraordinary to Utah for the very first time.

We are talking over 200 artists and 50 galleries, all gathered under one roof, organized into six distinct segments: Galleries, Studios & Collectives, Utah Treasures, a Sculpture Walk, First Nations & Indigenous Peoples, and Bespoke Furniture. That last one alone could keep me busy for hours — we are talking handcrafted furniture made from fallen trees throughout the western mountain ranges. Sustainably sourced, stunning, and completely one of a kind.

What to Expect When You Walk In

More than you think. That is always the answer with events like this, and it is especially true here.

The Sculpture Walk alone spans 7,000 square feet of works in stone, bronze, steel, aluminum, mixed media, and wood — ranging anywhere from 12 inches to 16 feet tall. There are galleries from around the globe, celebrated Native American art presented by more than 50 indigenous artists from 14 tribes, museum-quality masterworks spanning Ancient times through the Impressionist era, and live music and drama performances woven throughout the whole thing. Paired violins. Opera with a Steinway. Daily drama performances. It is not just an art show — it is a full cultural experience.

And the art itself? Artists whose work stops you mid-step. You will not be rushing through this one.

Who Is This For?

Honest answer: everyone. Art collectors looking to add something significant to their home. Design lovers who appreciate craft at its highest level. People who just want to spend an afternoon surrounded by beautiful things. Families. Date nights. Solo adventures with a good pair of shoes and no agenda.

You do not have to be an art buyer to have a genuinely great time here. You just have to show up.
