Confession time: my home to-do list never ends. There’s always a window that needs replacing, a bathroom that needs freshening up, or a backyard that could use some love. Every fall, I look around and think, “Okay, what do I need to tackle before winter hits (and before I lose my motivation entirely)?”

That’s why the Salt Lake Fall Home Show is one of my favorite expos of the year. It’s October 9-11, 2026 at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy, and it’s truly one-stop shopping for everything related to your home.

What Is the Salt Lake Fall Home Show?

Picture hundreds of trusted home improvement experts all under one roof, ready to talk about whatever project you have on your mind. Remodeling, landscaping, kitchens, baths, flooring, windows, décor, outdoor living, and more. You can browse the latest products and trends, compare your options, and chat face to face with the pros who do the work.

Here’s my honest reason for attending: I go to see what upgrades I need to have done and to gather bids on projects around my house. Instead of calling company after company, waiting for callbacks, and trying to compare apples to oranges, I can walk up to a booth, ask my questions, get a feel for the people, and collect information all in one afternoon. It’s like a home improvement to-do list that shows up to meet you.

If you’ve been putting off a project because you don’t know where to start, this is the perfect place to begin. Walk the floor, talk to a few experts, and you’ll leave with a plan.

What You Can Do There

There’s more than shopping, too. Here are a few of the highlights this year:

  • Design Stage: Learn from local experts on remodeling, home organization, landscaping, gardening, home value, and safety. Special guests Chase Morrill, Ashley Morrill, and Ryan Eldridge from Magnolia Network’s Maine Cabin Masters will be on stage Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.
  • Hidden Doors, Autumn Pours: A cozy autumn lounge with pumpkins and seasonal décor, plus a secret passageway to a hidden Dirty Soda Bar. (Yes, please.)
  • Woodland Weekend Retreat: A mountain-inspired cabin setting right inside the show, with outdoor-inspired activities and Campfire Talks.
  • Piece by Piece: Designer-curated hobby rooms that show how to turn unused spaces into craft rooms, art studios, game rooms, or home offices.
  • Build A Home Scavenger Hunt: Grab a show guide and find all eight pieces to “build” a home for a chance to win a prize. Great for kids!
  • Fall Show Puppy Bowl: Adoptable puppies representing BYU and Utah compete for your heart. Cheering for the underdog has never been so cute.
  • Bright Beginnings by Kids Market: More than 50 young entrepreneurs showing off their handmade products and big ideas.
  • Artisan Alley: Shop handcrafted treasures from local makers, including treats, décor, and gifts. A great spot to find something for your home or an early holiday gift.

I love this part. All three days, veterans, active and retired military, frontline workers (fire, police, and healthcare), teachers, and teacher aides receive free admission for themselves and one companion with valid ID.
