If you’ve been around here for a while, you know that when October rolls around, our family goes all in. Pumpkins, costumes, haunted things, and as many spooky snacks as we can fit in our bellies. So when I heard about Nightfall Halloween Park in West Jordan, Utah, I knew it belonged on our fall calendar.

Here’s what makes it special: it isn’t just one attraction. It’s three separate experiences in one place, which means there’s truly something for everyone in your family, from the littlest trick-or-treater to the bravest teen who claims nothing scares them. (We’ll see about that.)
Nightfall Halloween Park is home to the Crazy Corn Maze, Fright Lights, and Nightstalkers Haunted Trail. You can experience each one on its own or bundle them together and make a full night of it. Let me walk you through each one.

If you have little ones, or you just love the cozy side of Halloween, this is your stop. Fright Lights is a mile-long walk that lets your family explore the slightly spooky side of the season through lights and sound, with none of the scares. No one jumping out, no one grabbing. Just fun, cute, and festive Halloween magic all the way around.
And the best part comes at the end: you get the opportunity to pick your very own pumpkin to take home and carve. Honestly, that might be my favorite way to wrap up a walk. It turns a fun evening into the start of your next family project.
Now this one brings out the competitive side of our crew. The Crazy Corn Maze is such a fun challenge to navigate, and it’s even better when you’re racing your family and friends to see who can find their way through first. (Spoiler: Somebody always insists they know the way, and somebody is always wrong. I’m not naming names.)
What I love is that it works for everyone, and it’s great both day and night. Go in the afternoon for a bright, easy adventure with the kids, or go after dark when the maze feels a whole lot more mysterious.

Now for those who like the darker side of Halloween. Nightstalkers Haunted Trail takes you through a haunted corn maze and buildings, and wow, do the tensions build. You’ll feel it creeping up on you, and I can promise there are sure to be screams.
Here’s what I appreciate, though: it’s not the scariest haunted attraction out there. If your tolerance for being terrified isn’t super high, this is a wonderful one to try out. You get the thrill and the adrenaline rush without feeling like you’ve bitten off more than you can chew. It’s a great first haunt for teens and for anyone who’s been curious but a little nervous.
Before, after, or in between attractions, spend some time in the courtyard! There are games and fun to keep everyone entertained, perfect for burning off energy or settling a few family rivalries. And when you get hungry, head to the food court for some seriously tasty snacks. I’d recommend grabbing a warm drink to sip while you wait for the rest of your group to finish the haunt. (Their Grandma’s Famous Hot Chocolate has a great reputation.)
This is my favorite part of the season. Halloween traditions don’t have to be big or complicated. They just have to be yours. It’s the thing you do every year that makes everyone say, “Wait, are we still going to…?”
When you find an outing like this, where the little ones can enjoy the lights, the competitive ones can conquer the maze, and the thrill-seekers can scream their heads off, you’re building something your family will talk about for years. Years from now, nobody will remember what we had for dinner. They’ll remember who screamed the loudest, who got us lost in the maze, and whose pumpkin turned out the silliest.
Start small. Pick a night, pick an attraction, and make it a thing. Maybe it’s Fright Lights and a pumpkin every year. Maybe it’s the haunted trail the minute your kids are old enough. Maybe it’s hot chocolate and a corn maze race with the cousins. Whatever it looks like, those memories stack up fast, and that’s what makes a tradition.
Nightfall Halloween Park is open now through Halloween (October 31). Fright Lights is up and running now, and all dates and times are weather permitting, so check their Instagram for updates before you go. They’ll be closed if it’s raining or the paths are muddy.
