We’ve been partying like crazy here celebrating our Frankenweenie #DisneySide, my son’s 8th birthday and baptism and a birthday party with friends tomorrow. We’ve had tons of great cakes come through our door this week, so I thought I would share them with you.
We absolutely love Tim Burton, so when it came time to pick a favorite Disney theme, we knew in a heart beat it would be Frankenweenie. My favorite cake maker, Stephanie of The Murphy Girl’s Sweet Shop in Frenchtown, NJ, created a masterpiece with this cake! This hauntingly sweet creation was exactly what I had envisioned and when you cut into it, there was even a bright green cake! Such a cool contrast to the dark gray, black and white outside.
For my son’s actual birthday, he wanted a Jurassic Park cake (he loves all things to do with Jurassic Park!) While not a traditional baptism cake, it certainly fit his personality to a “T” and was enjoyed by all our guests, but my birthday boy especially loved digging in to this vanilla cake with raspberry filling.
When discussing what he wanted for his birthday party, he wanted something simple and fun, so he thought of having cupcakes that looked like ice cream sundaes. Stephanie did a great job creating everything we wanted. I can always count on her to create an amazing piece of art that just happens to taste delicious, too!
Fabulous cakes – almost a shame to eat them!!
The Jurassic Park cake is so unique – how awesome!
Those are a beautiful. My son turns 8 soon, I feel like I need to step up my cake game!
