My Obsession

I have a confession to make. I am addicted to candles. It’s bad, really bad. I can’t have enough. Living in a house with all boys, it’s my girly thing to collect and burn candles to make our house smell really good.

I burn candles year round, it makes me happy to be home and enjoying lovely smells. But, without a doubt, my favorite time of year for candles is the fall. Too many great choices in what to select. I’m a sucker for all things pumpkin, apple, and chestnut.

I especially love Yankee Candles for their strong-smelling candles and long burn times. I was thrilled to receive some new scents from Yankee Candle to check out* just in time for autumn.

Yankee Candle

A new line of luxurious candles this season are the Pure Radiance Candles.  I was able to try one of these in Ginger Pumpkin.  Oh my goodness, this is the best candle ever!  This candle is a little different from the regular candles we have grown to know and love.  The vases for the Pure Radiance line are a little more sophisticated and look great on display.  The flame dances through the rippled glass vase and lets off a slight colored light.  But the smell is so delicious with its combination of pumpkin, ginger and cognac.  I loved this candle so much, I went through it really fast and had to go out and buy a couple more of them to have.

For a slightly different smell, but one that is still perfect for fall, I was sent the Cranberry Pear candle.  I think this is the perfect selection for Thanksgiving.  Fresh and relaxing, I love the combination of fresh pears drizzled with cranberry syrup.  Sweet, but not at all overpowering, this is one of my favorite scents.  The large jar will burn for 110-150 hours, which I love.

Speaking of the long-lasting burn times, this is something great to have on hand for emergency situations.  With a freak fall snowstorm in 2011 and Superstorm Sandy in 2012 hitting my neck of the woods, we were out of power for a very long time.  Over 25 days actually! With September being National Preparedness Month, you can pick up some of these candles and justify that you are stocking up on emergency supplies for when and if there is a time you need light in your home and the power goes out.  You had better believe we used our Yankee Candles while we dealt with these storms.  Good thing is, even though we were cold and without a lot of comforts, my house smelled great!

I mentioned I have all boys.  They are all heavily involved in sports and activities, which means this mom spends a ton of time in the car with them after they have been exercising.  Sometimes the smell of sports equipment can take on a life of its own.  I wish we could burn candles in the car to take the odors away. Yankee Candle has the best solution for that! They have vent sticks in favorite candle scents to keep my car smelling fresh and pleasant.  I absolutely adore the new Smart Scent Vent Clip in Autumn Wreath.  It looks like a mini Yankee Candle jar and has a clear view window so that I can see use how much scent is left and when it will need to be replaced. It simply clips onto the air vent in the front of the car. They may be small in size, but they are very powerful and get the job done quickly and effectively!  Now when I get into my car, all I smell are the wonderful fall smells I want to smell, not football equipment!

I always love trying out new products from Yankee Candle and these new products are no exception.  These candles and vent sticks are wonderful and I highly recommend them to you.  You can purchase them online or at your local Yankee Candle store.
