They say a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, right?  Well, that’s true for every member of the family.  Tell me that walking into the house and seeing a batch of homemade cookies doesn’t make you a happy camper.  Especially when it is ice-cold outside and the house lingers of the warmth of the oven and the satisfying aroma of a sweet treat baked just for you.

As a mom, I have to bake all the time.  Whether it is for lunches, impromptu play dates, gatherings with friends, or a class party, I never run out of reasons to need to whip something up.  Something that makes it a breeze for me is my KitchenAid stand mixer.  How I went without this for so long, I do not know.  But, I was thrilled to receive one of these bad boys to check out this past month and have been consistently using it ever since.

My mixer is one of the latest color options, Bordeaux, and it is gorgeous!  I love the many selections KitchenAid offers for their mixers.  Seeing the deep red on my counter top makes me extra happy.  There are so many beautiful colors, 20, in fact, you can find one that fits your personality and kitchen color scheme.

But, aside from the aesthetics, my Kitchen Aid mixer is fabulous.  It gets a job done super fast, making efficient use of my ever dwindling time. It’s also easy enough to use that you can take the opportunity to teach the kiddos how to use it, too, and that’s always a bonus.

The KitchenAid Artisan Series 5 Quart Mixer has tons of great features.  I love the tilt-head so you can easily remove the stainless steel bowl or change attachments.  A dough hook, flat beater, and wire whisk are included attachments with this unit, as well as a shield to keep the mess to a minimum.  But, you can actually purchase other attachments such as a pasta maker or meat grinder.  Ever ground your own meat?  Once you do, you will not want to go back to store-bought ground meat! I actually love that attachment so much, that I would recommend it for everyone that enjoys cooking.

There are ten speeds on this mixer and making meals and baked goods with this appliance makes life a lot easier in the kitchen.  I have even gotten brave enough to start making my own pizza dough, flat breads and baked bread, since it is so easy to mix and proof the dough in the bowl.

My family is quite thrilled with the results they have been able to taste test since I began using the mixer.  I am always happy to have meals and anything I bake turn out well, so it’s a win-win situation for everyone.
