One of the many things we knew we wanted to do while visiting London was to take in the famous view from the top of the Coca-Cola London Eye, located off the banks of the River Thames. We were invited* to go to the top of the huge ferris wheel on one of our first nights in the city. With the sun setting and the city lights coming alive, we were able to take in a view that was truly spectacular.
London is an absolutely beautiful city and it is large and spread out. From the top of the London Eye, you can see it all.
I’m not typically a fan of ferris wheels, but aside from the basic design, this was not your typical amusement park ride. Upon entrance to the attraction, you find yourself walking into an encased capsule that holds around 25 people or so. Plenty of room to roam, you can look through the many windows of the capsule to see all of the city. Touch screens around the capsule enable you to click on any building you see and to learn the history of the building, what it is, the year it was built, etc. It’s so much fun to see the view from high above the city. The views are beautiful and make for some pretty incredible photo opportunities!
The whole experience lasts about 25 minutes and is very peaceful and relaxing. We ended our day of sight seeing this way and it was the perfect ending to a perfect day. I highly recommend visiting Coca-Cola’s London Eye when visiting London, as it is an experience unlike any other.
*we were invited to visit the attraction to facilitate a review, all opinions are my own.
Looks like it is well-worth it for the views alone! I missed going up in the London Eye when I was there, but there is always next time 🙂
