I love fall. The changing leaves, crisp autumn air, the apples, the pumpkins. All of it! It’s the best! But, one of the things I love most about the fall is that it means Halloween is coming up. I love all things Halloween! I love to fill our weekends with Halloween activities as soon as we can. Typically by the end of September, I have our weekends packed with ghoulish fun. Last year, we learned about Sleepy Hollow Hayride and the House on the Hollow and we could not wait to visit again.
We were invited* to Sleepy Hollow Hayride and the House in the Hollow this weekend. Located between New Jersey and Philadelphia, in a small little town called Newtown, Pennsylvania, it has been rated very high on the charts of those that loved to be scared. Check out this video preview of their attraction.
When I saw the video, I thought it looked cool but that it was probably a bit of an exaggeration on scenery. Not at all! The house that we go through is the house in the picture above! It is very spooky and you have to sign a waiver to go inside. Once inside the house, a surprise is that they know your name. I was called up to do a few tasks while there and the personalization was an awesome touch! The visual effects were incredible! Everything I experienced inside and throughout the haunted cemetery were completely unique to this attraction and despite all of the haunted houses I have been to before, I’ve not experienced at all before. This is an excellent haunted house! I honestly felt like I was in a movie, with the special effects and scenery. It was incredible!
At Sleepy Hollow, in addition to the House in the Hollow, you can take part in many activities. There is the Sleepy Hollow Hay Ride, the Field of Fright, as well as other onsite activities. There is plenty of food and cider to warm you up on a chilly October night. I loved the bon fire and live band playing as we went around the farm.
We thoroughly enjoyed the haunted hayride. Sleepy Hollow is located on a very large property, well over 200 acres. As we loaded up on the hayride, we knew we would be in for a lot of fun. I liked how unique this hayride was, in comparison to other rides I have taken before. We made several stops along the way and interacted with actors and scenes. Again, the special effects were really great. As we passed through the corn fields, we would encounter lots of thrilling moments. It was a blast!
Everything we did was so much fun, this attraction has quickly catapulted to the top of my haunted attraction favorites, which is saying a lot! I can’t wait to make this a yearly tradition!
In addition to being one of the greatest haunted attractions that I’ve been to, you can also take your little ones or kids that don’t like the creepy aspect of haunted houses and hayrides to the Sleepy Hollow Pumpkin Patch during the day on Saturday and Sundays. They have hay rides, a corn maze, bounce houses, pony rides and pumpkin picking. Want to visit for yourself? Learn more about this Newtown, PA haunt by visiting their website. What’s your favorite way to celebrate the Halloween season? We’d love to know!
*we were invited to the attraction to facilitate a review, all opinions are my own.
Went on the hayride which was spectacular. The band was awesome. We had a great time. Been to many Halloween entertainments, this was the Best Halloween Entertainment we have been too since last Halloween.
Will recommend to family and friends…
So glad you had a great time! We loved it, as well!
