It’s May and we’ve pretty much been on some sort of lockdown since Mid-March.  I am happy to report that I have become much better at cooking–even though I still don’t love it–making meals three times a day for 6 people helps to fine-tune your skills.  But, it can still be a challenge to come up with new ideas.  And, let’s be honest, in New Jersey, it can be hard to actually obtain the desired ingredients if you do have an idea of what it is you’d like to make.

I was thrilled this week to receive* a package at my doorstep from Crave Brothers.  Such a nice diversion from the mundane everyday life of quarantine!  It was quite exciting to open up the box and see what was inside!

Ooh!  Inside were the ingredients to make their famous Crave Brothers Farmstead Classics Chocolate Marscapone Pie!  I’ve never had a Marscapone pie, but I have had their delicious Marscapone cheese before and, let me tell you, there is nothing like it!  Once you’ve had theirs, you will want to make sure you have it on hand all the time.  Before receiving this box to make a sweet treat, I had always used this type of cheese in savory dishes, like pastas.  Those are amazing!  But, I was really excited to try the sweeter side.

The box included a pie crust, 16 ounces of Marscapone cheese made with fresh sweet cream, and Hershey’s special dark chocolate chips.  I am a huge fan of dark chocolate, so all of this was right up my alley.  Even better?  Looking at the recipe, I realized I could make this in just a couple of minutes, it was so simple.

We whipped it up for dessert–so, so easy!  We popped it in the fridge and I then made a homemade whipped cream to top it and a simple raspberry syrup to go with it (none of those were necessary, but since it was so easy to do, I thought I would.)

We drizzled the raspberry syrup on top when it was time to serve and everyone in my household was thrilled to try this delectable dessert!  What a yummy treat! That will certainly not be the last time I use Marscapone in a dessert–wow!  It was decadent–seemed liked something you would find in a fancy restaurant–so rich and good!

Thank you Crave Brothers for such an amazing recipe and ingredients to lift our spirits in the quarantine!
