Monster Jam 2023 was kicked off in Salt Lake City last night and it did not disappoint! I am convinced that Monster Jam is an event that everyone of all ages will be thoroughly entertained by for the duration of the entire event.
They had eight trucks competing in four events. The first event is the racing round. Two trucks race around the arena and it gets everyone ready for what they can expect for the rest of the night. All the drivers are very competitive and want to come out on top. The winner of this round was Earth Shaker and the driver was excited to be off to such a good start for the rest of the night.
Round two is the skills challenge. In this event, you will see the trucks flying in the air, and popping up on their front and back wheels. How these huge trucks are able to do all these tricks in the arena is really amazing! Earth Shaker was again the winner of this round and the driver thought that he had the competition in the bag! After the first two events you have a short intermission to stock up on snacks and drinks that are all very easy to order on your phone so you don’t waste time standing in line because you will want to get back to your seats as quickly as possible.
Next up are the motorcycles and they will definitely get your attention! The riders are all performing their most impressive tricks. I was holding my breath the whole time but they are very experienced riders and know what they are doing. After the motorcycle riders are finished with their show, it’s back to the monster trucks.
For the third event, you get to watch the trucks compete to do the best donuts. Watching the trucks spin in the dirt is so satisfying! The driver of the beloved Grave Digger came out on top of this competition. There is a reason everyone calls her the “Queen of Donuts”.
The final event is the crowd favorite: the freestyle competition. You get to watch the drivers do what they do best, but in the end there is always one driver who is the most impressive. Last night that was Grave Digger. The driver stunned everyone with a perfectly executed back flip! The crowd went wild! Now it was time to vote on who would be the overall winner. Grave Digger won and it was a very well deserved win for the driver! The whole show was impressive from beginning to end. The drivers and the announcers got the crowd excited and engaged and the energy was very fun! I know my family had a wonderful experience and we are all Monster Jam fans now!
