Holidays in Orlando….Visiting Diagon Alley

We just got back from an amazing trip to Orlando, Florida and I can’t wait to tell you all about it!  We did so much, so be sure to check back often to see it all.

For the last four years, our family has ventured down south, away from the cold on the East Coast, to enjoy some holiday fun in the warm climate in Florida during the month of December.  We so enjoy this trip and each time we try to do some different activities, along with some family favorites, too.  Believe it or not, we’ve never hit Disney World, though!  This family is all about Universal Orlando Resorts.  Last year, we loved seeing everything in Hogsmeade, but this year, we couldn’t wait to see the brand new addition to the Harry Potter attractions at Diagon Alley.

It was just as we had hoped and so much more!  Rather than begin our journey over at Islands of Adventure (where Hogsmeade and Hogwarts are located) we went to Universal Studios side, where tons of our favorite rides are located, as is the new location of Kings Cross Station in London which leads directly into Diagon Alley.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from our time spent at Diagon Alley.

I could honestly share hundreds of photos from our visit,as we spent three full days there and Islands of Adventure hanging out in Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade.  It is such an incredibly magical place, our entire family loves it!  Every little shop, cobblestone, food, and of course, the rides, are so detailed that you are literally transported into another world.  There are so many new shops in Diagon Alley, we brought back lots of fun souvenirs. Be sure to pick up an interactive wand so you can be a witch or wizard yourself, casting spells throughout the entire Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  There are tons of spots throughout the park where your wands can perform spells! This was so much fun to watch and do!

While you are there be sure to try ice cream at Florean Forfescue’s Ice Cream Parlour.  We loved the butter beer and orange marmalade flavors, especially!  A special treat you can also find at Universal this winter is warm butter beer–it is delicious!

We can’t wait to go back!  Do you plan on going to visit Diagon Alley or have you been yet?  What did you think of it? Feel free to leave a comment below, I would love to hear from you!

  1. That sounds so awesome!! My husband and I would be so into it. We keep saying we’re going to take a quick warm weather vacation in nov or dec, but still haven’t. We’re only in Seattle so it doesn’t get too cold, but it’s always raining. Maybe next year…

  2. I was there about two years ago! My favorite part was the Butter Beer. I heard they really revamped the place, I have to go back real soon!
